Our German Longhaired Pointers are versatile hunting dogs out of VDH Deutsch Langharr lines. We regularly work our dogs year round on wild pheasants in the farmland which surrounds our home. I hunt and train constantly, If the dog does not possess the natural ability as a working dog I will not keep it in my kennels regardless of bloodlines or certifications. I chose to try the Deutsch Langharr after much research and finding that the show dog community has not changed their abilities. My thinking and experience has led me to believe that hunting ability is diluted and sometimes eliminated by generations of dogs not being used for the job they were originally bred for. We have had to cull but we have kept the dogs I consider to have what it takes. If you are interested in a foot hunting upland or waterfowl dog i will be more than happy to demonstrate my dogs abilities on birds. In short I don't care if the dog is pink or green and has only three legs if it finds the most birds that is the dog I want to own. My dogs find birds and look good doing it!!!!!!!!!!!
